~ 1 YEAR APPOINTMENT ~

Keira had her 1 year appointment today and weighs 15.5 lbs. (Tiny... we know!) I've been really anxious about this appointment and am glad it finally came. Keira is in good health over all and is such a happy girl. She gains weight very slow and this is nothing new to us. She has never really been a good eater and we talked with the doctor today about our concerns. We always hoped that she would eat better as she gets older... but nothing has really changed. Keira is terrible with textures and we still continue to work with her on that. Her pediatrician mentioned that some babies have a hard time with textures and it seems like Keira is on bad end of it. We switched her medication for reflux from Zantac to Prevacid. Hopefully that will help a little and do a better job. The doctor is not super concerned but is still wanting to run some labs to see if anything is going on. We are also going to take her to a GI doctor to check things out. We just struggle so much with getting her to eat and she has never really had a desire to eat from day one. It's been super stressful as a mom to have to feed your child many times throughout the day when they refuse it half the time. I think Keira will always be on the tiny side and I think as a first time mom I definitely worry too much... but we just want to get things checked out just in case. Maybe she just needs the stronger reflux medicine and that's it! Or maybe we do just have picky little eater! We will keep you posted! We love Keira so much and think she's perfect and we are glad that she's happy and healthy and fun!

~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEIRA ~

Keira was so excited on her Birthday and loved all the attention. She loved wearing her tutu and had so much fun at her party.

I wanted to make her 1st Birthday extra special and had to do some decorating for her party. When she woke up the morning of her Birthday she loved looking at everything.

I had so much fun making cute cupcakes for Keira's Birthday. I had to go all out! Not only were they cute but they were delicious. The pink ones are strawberry frosting with cream cheese in the middle and the chocolate ones have peanut butter cream in the middle. I made the candles and flowers myself by melting white chocolate and using food coloring and sprinkles. No mold was used and I made them all by hand using a squeeze bag. I came up with the candle and flower idea on my own. It was a little time consuming but well worth the finished product!

Everyone loved the cupcakes and Keira was so excited to eat one!

~ CRAWLING KEIRA ~

Keira turns 1 this Saturday and we are so excited that she started crawling a couple weeks ago. It was our goal to get her moving before her Birthday and we did it! Great job Keira! She is so much happier getting around and we enjoy the excitement of chasing her.

~ KEIRA'S FIRST BIKE RIDE

We have been really excited to take Keira on her first bike ride and finally got some beautiful weather to do it today.

Daddy picked out Keira's helmet online and I think it's so cute with the bunnies. She didn't like it at first but warmed up to it quickly.

I can't believe how big my little girl is getting. She's at such a fun stage!

Now that Keira is crawling... she loves to get into the fireplace. She's a sneaky little girl!

Keira also loves to play in the tupperware cupboard. I don't mind this at all and think it's great. It keeps her plenty busy while I'm in the kitchen cooking and I can keep a good eye on her. She gets so excited when I set her down and open the cupboard. I'm sure she'll figure out how to open it on her own soon!

I think Keira could play here for hours if I let her. It's amazing what keeps kids entertained!

*A WEEK AWAY FROM TURNING 1!

It's hard to believe that our little girl is turning 1 next week! We are so excited for her birthday and decided to invite some friends over to celebrate. The party is planned and we can't wait till it comes!

I've been meaning to post these cute little Princess toys from Grandma Cheryl. Every little girl needs a cute collection of Princesses! Keira enjoys playing with them... and so does every other little girl that comes to our house.

*FINALLY... A LITTLE SUNSHINE!

The snow has finally started to melt away and we have been getting some lovely sunshine! We had to take advantage of it and get outside for a change.

Keira loves playing in the grass and would stay outside forever if we let her.

Keira switched to a big car seat this past week and is no longer in the infant carrier. It was such a good deal and is so functional. We love it... and so does Keira!
